What bacteria would produce a pink lawn on my hummus?

(Yes, I double dipped)

What bacteria would produce a pink lawn on my hummus?
It's some kind of mold.
Reply:It was definitely NOT mold. I think it was Serratia marcescens. Report It

Reply:More than likely a Serratia species (and don't double-dip again!).
Reply:E- coli is pink, it grows in the bathtub and sinks. Although it's a normal bacteria flora in the large intestine, but it sounds like it's an overgrowth on your hummus, if you feel sick please contact a doctor. It's known to cause diahrea and UTI
