How are bacteria classified?

Name the two large classes if you can.

thank you

How are bacteria classified?
Shape (cocci, rod, and bascillus) and staining properties (gram negative or positive).
Reply:well bacterica are in their own group of classifaications

and their mostly in shapes so they come in cocci, rod, and bascillus
Reply:according to how they grow.

Reply:Once considered a part of the plant kingdom. Bacteria were eventually placed in a separate kingdom, Monera. Bacteria fall into one of two groups, Archaebacteria and Eubacteria.
Reply:You should know that Archaebacteria and Eubacteria are not related. The first are a more ancient lineage that can survive in the most extreme of environments. Ironically, humans are more related to them (also called Archaea) than we are the the other type of bacteria.

As for classification, phylogeny does not recapitulate morphology. It is done by staining, true, and by shape. Metabolism is not at all considered.

Who told you that there were two large classes? They need to brush up on microbiology!
