How do bacteria repair damage from radiation?

I think it watches from damaged DNA and excises it... I think I need to be more specific.

How do bacteria repair damage from radiation?
Ok... When a bacterial cell is exposed to UV light, the bacteria's DNA absorbs it. This causes abnormal bonds (dimers) These interfere with normal funtions, such as, relication and transcription. When visible light is shone on a cell, folic acid absorbs light and breaks the abnormal bonds. the DNA is the able to recombine the nucleic acid bonds.

I hope that helped. I tried to be specific, but not too specific. Check out the link for more info.
