How do bacteria help us from nitrogen?

Nitrogen fixing bacteria helps us by fixing atmospheric Nitrogen. This process is called nitrogen fixation. Without these bacteria majority of nitrogen will get lost in the air and we can't produce important nitrogen compounds (such as, ammonia, nitrate and nitrogen dioxide) useful for other chemical processes.
